During World War II, German bombers turned everyday life in London into a nightmare. Most bombs explode on impact with the ground, but some will sit for hours, days, or weeks before detonating. It was up to the Royal Engineers to find and defuse these unexploded bombs (UXBs) and before they exploded. As a corporal in the Royal Engineers, it's your job to defuse these bombs.
First, you will be checking your London map to see where the bombs are. Then it's discharge time.
On an Atari 2600, you move the slider. On the green bomb, the top control panel is the left switch, the middle middle and the bottom right. You can set the slide to make the spot move towards the switches and right. On the orange bomb, the slider that controls the switch varies from bomb to bomb and on the blue bomb, you cannot control the switches. They just randomly change and you press right and hope you disarm in time.
Possible ranks:
Corporal
Corporal
Sargent
Staff Sargent
Ensign
Second Lieutenant
First Lieutenant
Captain
At the start of the game you can choose which rank to start from Corporal to Second Lieutenant on the c64 or from Corporal to First Lieutenant on the Atari 2600. Each time you defuse a bomb, you move up the levels within your rank. Move up eight levels and you have not contributed. If a bomb explodes in a city and deals damage, you are downgraded.
You lose the game, you drop below a corporal or a bomb explodes while you are near her, not a very healthy thing to happen.
You will win if you get the rank of captain, after which you will be given a job in the office.
