Game Mario Bros. (Atari 2600 - a2600)
Mario Bros.

Mario is a platform game published and developed for arcades by Nintendo in 1983. It was created by Shigeru Miyamoto. It has been featured as a mini-game in the Super Mario series and numerous other games. Mario was re-released for the Wii console, Nintendo 3ds, and Wii U on the Virtual Console services in Japan, North America, Europe, and Australia.

In the game, Mario is portrayed as an Italian-American plumber who, along with his younger brother Luigi, to defeat the creatures that come from the sewers under New York. The gameplay focuses on exterminating Mario from them by flipping them on their backs and kicking them. The original versions of Mario - the arcade version and the Family Computer/Nintendo Entertainment System (FC/NES) versions - were received positively by critics.

Mario features two plumbers, Mario and Luigi, having to explore the New York sewers after strange creatures appear there. The goal of the game is to defeat all the enemies in each stage. Mario mechanics only include running and jumping. Unlike future Mario games, players cannot jump on enemies and crush them if they have already been turned on their backs. Each stage is a series of platforms with pipes at each corner of the screen, and an object called a 'POW' block in the center. Both sides of each phase feature a mechanism that allows the player to travel off-screen to the left and appear to the right and vice versa.

The player gains points by defeating multiple opponents in succession and can participate in the bonus round to get more points. Enemies are defeated by kicking them while they have been flipped onto their back. This is achieved by hitting the enemy platform directly below them. If the player has too much time to pass after that, the enemy will flip itself back, changing color and increasing speed. Each stage has a certain number of enemies, with the final enemy immediately changing color and increasing speed.

There are four enemies: Shellcreeper, who just walks around; Sidestepper that takes two hits to flip; A fighter fly that moves by jumping and can only be deflected when it touches the platform; and Slipice, which turns platforms into slippery ice. When swooped down from below, Slipice dies instantly instead of flipping.

In 'RL', the block flips all enemies upon touching the platform or floor when the player hits it from below. It can be used three times before it disappears. In Super Mario 3 is a player-versus-player version of this mini-game, each of the three uses causes the opponent to lose a card and all enemies to flip over. Another feature in this small remake is that the pipes are straight, occasionally spitting large fireballs at the two plumbers. Coins appear whenever enemies are defeated and can be collected for bonus points.

As the game progresses, items are added to increase the difficulty. Fireballs or bounce around the screen or straight from one side to the other, and icicles form under the platforms and fall freely. Bonus rounds give players the chance to get extra points by collecting coins without having to deal with enemies; The 'pr' block is implemented on each of these screens.
