Phantom II - Pirate

Phantom II/Pirate is a homebrew two-game cartridge written by David Weavil. The Phantom II is based in the old Balli arcade halfway of the same name, where your objective is to patrol the hostile skies and shoot down enemy bombers! In Pirate, you must explore the dangerous island and find the treasure of the pirate Chuck DeLuc! The cartridge has a menu that allows you to select which games to play after the system is powered on.

Fighter Pilots Needed!

Fight your way through the day and night zone and shoot down the enemy bomber!

Use the joystick to move your fighter and the fire button to fire missiles. You will only get one life to avoid the enemy jets (you are safe at the lowest level of the screen)! In the night zone, enemy aircraft are not visible, only when the radar wave passes over them.

You start with about 60 seconds in the rocket version and 90 seconds in the regular rocket version. If you can reach and shoot down the bomber (which requires three taps), you will be awarded extra time (represented by the table on the left side of the screen). Enemy planes get more evasive and you get less time to reach your targets with each successive round.

Can you find the treasure of the pirates "before" Chuck Leduc? Carefully! His bony corpse roams the island in search of something to protect him! Also watch out for snakes and voodoo priestesses!

Use the joystick to move around the island and use the fire button to fight/pick up items or use an item/enter or exit the hut. The color of the box represents what you are currently carrying (gray - nothing, blue - shovel, yellow - sword, green - shovel and sword). The display color in the window shows your health. You can start with three points (3 - green, 2 - yellow, 1 - red). The snakes have 1 point each. Hits of other enemies are randomly generated. There are flowers growing on the island that will restore your health, but this only works when it's fresh. Only use it when you really need it!

Treasures are marked with an "X" and you must have a shovel in your possession to dig it up. Can you find the treasure before Leduc finds you?
