Wizard is a video game created in 1980 for the Atari 2600 video game system by Chris Crawford, although it was not released until 2005. The master ROM takes up 2K, the latest Atari 2600 games programmed by Atari Inc. to use such a small amount.
The player plays as a master of irata (atari spelled backwards) and fights the imps. It takes place in a maze, but it's not a symmetrical fight: the player is faster than the opponent, but the opponent can go through walls and fire faster than the player can.
The master was innovative in several ways. There is no need to aim as the player's angle of fire was automatically directed towards the enemy player. The enemy remained invisible when he was behind a wall, making it one of the first games to implement a line of sight algorithm. This was also a very realistic (for the time) heartbeat that would get louder as the player got closer to an enemy.
