Based on the popular Tiger electronic toy, Lights Out is an expanded edition of the original puzzle. Players are faced with a 6x6 grid (as opposed to the original 5x5 grid) with a chosen number of lights lit, and their goal, as in the original game, is to turn off all the lights (hopefully in the fewest possible moves). The player does this by touching the desired light with the stylus, which turns it and adjacent lights on and off. Each puzzle has a certain minimum number of steps the player must complete in order to turn off the lights (starting at three and increasing by one every six puzzles). Once this amount is exceeded, the player has 10 steps to complete the puzzle, otherwise he/she will fail the puzzle and be forced to try again.
In addition to the original Lights Out, two other game modes are available - Lit Only, which only allows the use of burning lights, and Toggle, where the player must click on a light that is on and then on a light that is off. and so on, until the puzzle is solved or failed. All three modes also feature a random variant in which players face one of 60 billion puzzles to solve.
