A simple platform game. The player controls a little man who jumps from platform to platform and destroys monsters with sixteen-ton weights.

16 Ton is reminiscent of Teddy Boy (Sega Master System) and Flicky (Master System, MegaDrive) platformers in its simplicity. You have to jump on platforms and throw heavy 16-ton things at zombies and other evil spirits! Very radical development!

16 Ton was released specifically for distribution over the SEGA Meganet via special Megadrive Modems. The service itself was called Gamehompo and lasted only 3 years (from 1989 to 1991) and then only in Japan. About two dozen early and strange games for Sega could be downloaded on the same network. Many of them never came out in cartridge format. These games were later re-released for MEGA CD.
