Game Puzzle Bobble Mini (Neo Geo Pocket Color - ngpc)
Puzzle Bobble Mini

Many Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) owners immediately recognize the 'hero' of this title. Puzzle Bobble used to be called the bubble bobble on the NES and turned out to be more of a puzzle platformer rather than the puzzle arcade that made its way onto the Neo Geo Pocket. Puzzle bobble mini has one goal post and almost everything about appearing bubbles on shooting, and thus combining colored bubbles to clear the playing field. Making the bubbles disappear will require you to combine at least 3 bubbles of the same color.

Being a fairly simple game, puzzle bobble mini offers us 3 different game modes. These different game modes may be the same in essence, but they feel completely different when played. These modes are called, respectively, puzzle, versus-cpu, and survivor modes. While the puzzle mode consists of several predefined stages that you simply have to clear within a certain amount of time, other modes will offer more random stages. The versus-processor mode will allow you to fight an artificial opponent, who can be defeated by removing your pom-pom, which in turn will be added to his screen. (and vice versa), finally, in the mode "survivor" offers us the same gameplay, but almost without end. You will have,

Puzzle bobble mini may look a little "old school", but it's definitely a game that can still compete with a lot of modern puzzle games when it comes to fun and play. Even when it comes to aiming where you launch your bubbles, the Neo Geo Pocket Color D-pad/Joystick hybrid will feel like it was made for these kinds of games.

Here it is - a truly successful mix of arcade and puzzle genres in a wonderful shell from the cult company Taito! Puzzle Bobble has everything an entertaining masterpiece needs: moderate difficulty, fun gameplay, nice graphics, and adorable characters. Let's take a closer look at this game!

In 1986, Taito introduced the world to the excellent Bubble Bobble arcade game (you can also find it on our website), the main characters of which were Bub and Bob, two of the cutest dinosaurs. The result stunned the whole world, and later the arcade was ported to many other platforms, continuing to delight its viewer. Such success could not help turning the heads of the developers, and it was decided to “let the characters in” into another world: into a new game with a puzzle bias. Thus, as a result, we have another pearl of the game industry - Puzzle Bobble!

The playing field is represented by a rectangular arena, the upper part of which is filled with colored balls, and in the lower part there are our dinosaurs that control the "bubble" gun. The main goal is to completely clear the field by creating groups of balls of the same color; as soon as the "bubble company" touches the "projectile" of the same color, it disappears. The minimum number of balls in a group required for destruction is three.

After a certain number of shots, the ceiling drops by one notch. It becomes more difficult to control the cannon in such conditions, and it’s completely inopportune that it can offer a bubble of the wrong color as a projectile ... The loss inevitably occurs if the ceiling drops completely or there is no room left for the balls to fly. However, it is fair to say that the rhythm of the game is quite gentle, so there is no sense of fuss, and the available auxiliary bubbles (exploding or burning through a horizontal row) allow you to complete some levels in just ten seconds! The main thing is to adapt and correctly calculate the flight path of the balls (after all, they know how to ricochet off the walls, which often comes in handy).

The game has a very significant and pleasant plus - a mode for two! In this case, the screen is divided into two arenas, and a serious battle begins! The control is made by the keyboard, which is very convenient for such a game. Together with juicy graphics and excellent sound effects, Puzzle Bobble can drag you in for a long time and become one of your favorite entertainments with friends! The only moment that can confuse the player is the menu in Japanese, but even this minor flaw will not overshadow the leisure of true connoisseurs, and such an “illness” is solved by simply studying the items with the help of a translator or by experience.

In short, the game receives the highest score - if not for a fresh idea, but for great execution.
