Formula 99 is the fourth installment in the FIA ??licensed, Formula One series of Psygnosis'. All race teams, drivers, cars and technical data have been updated in accordance with changes in the real world of Formula One racing. Even newly built (in 1999) in Sepang Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has been added for the season ??.
Players can choose to participate in the Quick Race, an arcade style game, Grand Prix, which is racing simulator, and various two-player racing options. In Quick Race, there is no worry for fuel, damage, holes, or fines. Select a track, adjust the parameters of the race, such as the weather and go.
There two-player mode, two drivers can go against each other in a vertical or horizontal split screen. The Grand Prix mode, players can choose to enter one race or go through the entire season, which consists of 16 international tracks. The race consists of a weekend, one day expended practitioners two days for qualifying to determine the starting position, and the three days is the race itself
Players can choose to set a number of realistic details to influence the race.. They can choose to play with ulceration, fuel usage, tire wear, damage, and variable weather. Players can also change their cars to meet the appropriate weather and track styles.
During the race, players must pay attention to the flags to be displayed on the track marshal to indicate the various factors of the race. Black flags indicate the driver received a time penalty or was disqualified from the race. The blue flag indicates the driver is going to beat a fast car and have to admit that the car pass. The yellow flag warns of danger on the track ahead, and, of course, the checkered flag points to win.
After each race, points are awarded to the top six finishing cars to contribute to their overall season standings. Players can save their games between the races
