K-1 Grand Prix (Fighting Illusion K-1 Grand Prix '98 in Japan) is a kickboxing game featuring 32 real K-1 fighters.
game has a K-1 Kings 1 player mode where the player chooses fighter and faces off against a series of computer-controlled fighters, and another mode, which is the K-1 mode 2 Player Hercules. There is also a mode of the K-1 Grand Prix, which has 16 fighters competing in the tournament to become the champion of K-1.
K-1 Challenge allows the player to create a fighter. Players get to choose your fighter ?? body type, skin color, their trunks and nationality, as well as a gym on the train, which best reflects the style of fighting that they want. Players get to choose a coach and 2 sub coaches to help them the conditions to become a fighting machine. To conditions, the player chooses a variety of exercises like jumping rope or using a medicine ball for his fighter to train. Education builds statistics fighters, as well as training gets them points, which then can be spent on steps such as uppercuts and hooks. In the end, after training for a while, the player will be challenged by an opponent, and they can choose to take the call or drop in if they feel they are not ready and need to exercise more. This mode requires the player fighter after 8 years of his career trying to become the K-1 champion. Mode
Education allows the player to practice their moves with a sparring partner. Finally, Ring Side mode allows the player to watch the match between 2 computer controlled fighters.
Gameplay consists of two rivals in the ring throwing punches and kicks at each other, trying to knock each other to the canvas.
