179, the new Western calendar, one year war breaks out between the Federation of the Earth and the principality of Zeon, but stopped when the object falls to the ground, landing on the South island of Atalia. The investigation team of Extra-Over-Investigative Institute of Technology opens the object is an alien battleship with highly advanced technology. Despite the warnings of Dr. Bian Zoldark, Federation hide evidence of intelligent extraterrestrial life, and uses the time to increase its military strength. Bian founded the Divine Crusaders use Extra-Over Technology is on the ship, to develop a weapon that can protect Earth from alien forces, if the planet is embroiled in a conflict.
During this time, the economic problems caused by the build-up of the Federation sees the rise of many movements against the Federation, such as Neo-Zeon, who retreated to the asteroid axis.
