Worm War I is a rising shooter type game released in 1982 for the 20th Century Fox Atari 2600.

The game is similar to games such as Space Invaders, in which the player controls a tank shooting at large worms. The screen automatically scrolls up as the worms and blocks move down. Each time all worms are destroyed, a new set appears at the top of the screen. The game goes 99 waves. Other than shooting worms, there are mushrooms that you can shoot to clear all the worms.
