Unlike space shooters of the time, in Megamania the main goal is food and everything that surrounds it. Then this, not too smart idea seemed interesting to everyone, and the commercial success of Megamania was ensured. I am sure that if the screen resolution allowed, instead of burgers and cockroaches, portraits of Brezhnev, Stalin and other general secretaries would fly. Then the game would have become a number one hit among the bourgeoisie.
The version for Atari 2600 differed in that it was impossible to make out what exactly was falling from above. The resolution of the set-top box was not enough.
In the version for Atari 5200, you can already make out what exactly is falling.
Megamania is one of several Activision games that look better on the 5200 than on the 2600.
