The game is similar to a board game, where the player is given a given roll of the die, which moves the player up to six spaces on the board; however, if the player is given such a choice, they may move to a space of their choice if there is a fork in the road. After landing on a space, the player is given a series of questions (the number of questions to be answered increase as the game progresses) in order to return to the board for another roll of the dice. The player is given a time limit to answer a question, subject to points that vary based on how quickly the player answered the question correctly. If the player successfully answers the question, one of the stones above the opponent's image will light up, indicating the correct answer. There are also two special spaces on the playing field that the player can land on. If the player lands in an inn, the innkeeper will ask them one question. If the player answers the question correctly, the innkeeper will increase his health somewhere between one and four points [the chance of getting a higher number depends on the difficulty level set by the operator]. The other space is the space elf. If the player answers the elf's question correctly, they are granted a special skill to be used in the next round of the game. Possible rewards::
- Medicine - One point of health restored
- The sword-next test only has two possible answers for each question instead of four
- Staff - The next test only has three possible answers for each question instead of four
- Scrolling - you can select the category of questions for the next quiz
- Speed Ring-Timer will be slower for each question in the next quiz
- Ring of Knowledge - The correct answer will flash for each question in the next quiz
- Shortcut - you will be transferred to the last square of the current level
In addition, some squares have hidden treasure chests that can reward any of the above, but also, sometimes, a 5000 point bonus or all five health points are restored [regardless of the number of health points the player started the game with (set by the operator) ]
Some spaces on the game board that are larger than other spaces on the game board contain one of the Gordian Dragon's followers. The player cannot miss this battle and must answer the questions in order to move forward in the game.
