Game Cheese Cat-astrophe with Speedy Gonzales (Game Gear - gg)
Cheese Cat-astrophe with Speedy Gonzales

The cat Sylvester (appears in the game under the name Dr. Cheesfinger) enters the village where the mouse Speedy Gonzales lives and kidnaps all the mice from there, including Speedy's beloved. At the same time, the entire supply of cheese disappears. Now the mouse needs to find the kidnapped comrades, return the stolen cheese, and also save his beloved.

The gameplay is as follows. Mouse Speedy Gonzales moves through the levels, overcomes obstacles, destroys enemies, collects useful items and solves various puzzles. The task of each level is to find several "hostages" - Speedy's neighbor mice. After completing this task, an underground passage opens to the next level (marked with an arrow).

Various monsters act as opponents (birds, spiders, scorpions, snakes, carnivorous plants, etc.). Useful items include sombrero hats, pepper pods, cheese heads, extra lives, etc. Also, levels sometimes contain items that make it difficult to pass - for example, if the hero picks up a head of "stale" cheese, his speed can slow down significantly, and the height and length of jumps decrease.

The character can destroy enemies by jumping from above. It is also possible to use a lasso to climb higher ground, or a sombrerro to smash a box with a useful item inside (it should be noted that such boxes often block holes in underground passages). The protagonist is also able to move quickly and make long jumps.

At some levels, there are peculiar "teleports". For example, in the second level, the hero can enter a cave at one end of the level and exit at the other.

At the beginning of the game, 5 lives are issued. Their number can be observed on the game interface, which also displays game points and the current level of health (the indicator is made in the form of a cheese head, from which some part is “bitten off” with each damage).

Graphically, the game is built using two-dimensional graphics. Scrolling game screens is carried out by means of horizontal scrolling.
