Dragonheart: Fire & Steel was released in 1996, and is a 2D scrolling beat ?Em Up is based on the movie of the same name. Players take on the role of a retired knight, who has to return to action and remain faithful to the vows he took a long time. the tyranny of the evil prince threatens the land, and the knight (who was a former Dragonslayer) can only defeat the intrigues of the noble with the help of a friend, who just happens to be the last survivor of a dragon on Earth.

Players must hit, hit, and slash your way through multiple levels in their quest, facing off against both the strengths and weaknesses of enemies bent on stopping them. At the end of each level boss characters are ready to kill the player, who must defeat them to continue, because retreat is not an option. Rendered and digitized graphics used in the game to introduce the characters and backgrounds, respectively, although the title works in low resolution graphics
