A-Train train simulation video game series, originally developed and published by Japanese Artdink game developers in Japan. The first game in the series was published in 1985. The first release in the United States was Take A-Train II, published in 1988 under the name of Railroad Empire by Seika Corporation. However, the most famous is the US release of Take A-Train III, published in 1992, Maxis just like A-Train.

Released in December 1993 for the NEC PC-9801, FM Towns Marty, Windows 3.1 and Windows 95. It was later re-released on March 17, 2000 for Windows 95 and 98 under the name of A-Train 4 Fifteenth Jubilee, and again on March 26, 2004 , entitled A-Train 4 XP, this time including support for Windows 2000 and XP.

In Ressha de Ikou Z - Mezase! Tayriku oudan (ak A-Train Z) was released in May 1999 for consoles Playstation 1 and it was re-released on the PSP in June 2006.

Z version features 3D views of the city and train various trains, rails and cities. The goal is to make the biggest empire the train, and the game ends when a player runs out of money.
