The last Mega Man game on the platform, released only in Japan (where the hero is called Rockman). There are two characters to choose from: the blue boy robot Rockman, familiar from the old games with the NES, who knows how to load a gun and make a tackle, and the black robot Forte (known in America as Bass), which looks like Mega Man, but wears a helmet that makes him look like to the sphinx. Forte can fire bursts and double jump. The game begins with a level in the museum where the villain defeats the red robot Proto Man - Mega Man's friend, and leaves us to fight the boss - a green bubble with an eye; then a map appears, on which paths to eight levels are gradually opened; defeating the level boss, the hero gets a new weapon. The game is very similar to the rest of Mega Man, but it has a lot of new things. Firstly, you can collect bolts at the levels, which are used as a currency: for them you can buy various upgrades or even lives. Secondly, 100 discs are scattered throughout the game, each of which contains information about the heroes and bosses of the series. Thirdly, there are a lot more forks and secrets in the game. And most importantly - the graphics have become much more technically advanced. There is a Game Boy Advance port of the game called "Mega Man & Bass".
