The plot of the game has not undergone any changes: four Warriors of Light go on a dangerous adventure to restore the radiance of the four sacred crystals. The main changes affected the graphics and the combat system. Changes to the combat system have made the game somewhat easier than the original, but that doesn't mean the game has gotten any worse.

The changes in the graphics are not unambiguous - on the one hand, the graphics have become richer and more detailed, on the other hand, some effects (like those that appear when flying on various aircraft) could not be fully implemented on a portable console, the effects that replace them look frankly bad. There are no more significant changes.
