SPELL-IT by Dick Smith Electronics is a spelling aid for the AQUARIUS HOME COMPUTER that requires 16K RAM PACK to run.
The SPELL-IT already has a list of 40 words in memory when it is loaded into the computer, but the user can create, save to tape, and later load back from tape their own word lists. The only requirement for the list is that no word can be longer than 18 characters and must contain 40 words. Lists created with SPELL-IT can be read by the sister program READ-IT.
The student works on 8 words in the main list. They can be chosen by the student or randomly. After selecting a subset of 8 words, the program will only use those words until another selection is made.
In SPELLING PARTICIPANT mode, the words are shown to the student first, then; spelled out, and then, finally, once more flashed through the student. The student should repeat this until he feels he knows how to write the words correctly.
In the FIND mode, the student will be offered 8 word options, only one of which will be correct. The student must choose the correct one.
In UNSCRAMBLE mode, the student will be given a word in which all the letters are jumbled. He must enter the correct spelling of the word.
