Game Flip Out (Atari Jaguar - jag)
Flip Out

The game takes place on the planet Phrohmaj and includes 9 levels representing different locations of this planet inhabited by strange looking aliens.

The essence of the game is to place the colored tiles in the correct places on the board by lifting the tiles into the air. There is always one more tile in the game than there are cells on the board, so at least one tile must be in a tossed state at all times.

As you progress through the levels, the game becomes more and more difficult, as you have to keep more tiles in the air and deal with aliens interfering with the game.

Game Zero's reviewers noted the game's interesting concept, but noted that it is too easy: only the 3D levels that appear towards the end of the game are difficult enough. Among the advantages of the game was named clear graphics, smooth controls and good sound.

In contrast, Electronic Gaming Monthly noted that the graphics are blurry and fuzzy. The reviewer pointed out that although the gameplay takes some getting used to, it can get boring fairly quickly, as there is not enough incentive to continue playing.

GamePro's review indicates that the game is far from fully exploiting the Jaguar console's graphical potential. The reviewer notes that the game is not as addictive as Tetris, but it is quite capable of captivating those who liked the Klax game.
