Bakumatsu Roman Daini Maku Gekka no Kenshi Tsuki ni Saku Hana Chiri Yuku-hana (known as Last Blade 2 in the West) is a 2D fighting game similar to the SNK series Samurai Shodown as the game focuses on swordplay. There are four attack buttons that act as weak, medium, heavy, and deflection. Players can choose from sixteen characters that can be played in either "speed" or "strength" styles. Speed Style allows players to perform chain attacks similar to most anime fighters as well as perform Speed Combos. Power Style gives you access to Super Cancels (cancelling Super Pops into other Super Pops) and Super Super Desperation Move; an even stronger version of your super. The supermeter is handled in a more traditional way than in the Samurai Shodown series, making it similar to the meter in the Street Fighter series. The deflect button acts like a parry, making it a 2D fighter equivalent to something like a guard strike in the Soul Calibur series. Last Blade 2 is a great game for fighting game players who are looking for a balance between distance, time, reads and combo potential in a fighting game. It's well worth the time to play.
