Game Mine Storm (Vectrex - vect)
Mine Storm

Developed by General Consumer Electronics, manufacturer of Vectrex, it was built into the gaming system. The gameplay is very similar to the Atari asteroids. The game starts with a large enemy ship dropping mines on the field when an ominous jingle is played, and moves from top to bottom where it disappears. The player's ship starts in the middle of the field with 5 lives. Then numerous mines appear. The player must destroy all mines in order to move on to the next minefield. All mines can be destroyed with a single shot or hit the player's ship, costing the player a life. There are 4 types of min. The initial mines are stationary, then the second level has magnetic mines that follow the player's ship if approached, the third level has mines that shoot fireballs backwards when destroyed,

The original version that came bundled with the Vectrex system included a bug that caused the game to crash on level thirteen. Players who called GCE (Milton Bradley in the UK) and reported a bug received a free MineStorm II cartridge in the mail. Only a few people have done so, making the game extremely rare among collectors.
