Mutant Penguins (Attack of the Mutant Penguins) is an action and strategy video game developed by Sunrise Games and published in 1996 by Atari for the Atari Jaguar, Gametek game console for PC (DOS and Windows).
The aliens, who watched a television broadcast about penguins transmitted from Earth, decided that this was the dominant species on Earth, and disguised themselves as penguins in order to take over the Earth. Once on our planet and realizing their mistake, they put on clothes to look like people. The real penguins decided to rectify the situation by expelling the invaders.
Using various devices, machines and switches, the player must help the "good" penguins go in the right direction, and destroy or lock up the "bad" penguins so that the balance of the "scales of fate" does not tilt towards evil. The gameplay is similar to Lemmings, but instead of using the mouse, the player controls one of two characters.
The game has 20 levels. After their completion, the Pandemonium mode becomes available, in which an infinite number of enemies oppose the player. Mini-games are available between levels, success in which affects the gameplay, increasing the number of "good" penguins.
It is noted that the game, despite the frivolous name, has a strong entertainment potential, beautiful isometric graphics, but there is practically no soundtrack in it.
