Violent wars raged in the distant Tetrenov galaxy. In the end, the opponents so exhausted each other that it was no longer possible to live on the ruins of the old world. United, the old opponents went in search of new habitable worlds. And soon the researchers stumbled upon the planet Earth, which looked like a good candidate for a habitat. And a new war began, perhaps the last for them. At the same time, a new military development is being released on Earth - ASO - the latest generation of spacecraft. This ship you have to control during the game.
ASO: Armored Scrum Object (known as Alpha Mission in the US and Europe) is one of the many space-themed scrolling shooters, however, it has something to stand out from its brothers. By collecting bonuses, you can switch to one of eight battle formations of the ship, each of which is different from the others. Formations are good to use for certain situations, for example, the Octo formation is useful for shooting enemies surrounding you, and the Fire formation is capable of destroying both air and ground targets.
The game ASO: Armored Scrum Object, of course, is inferior to its later brothers in the genre, but for 1986 it looks very good.
