Game 8 Eyes (Dendy - nes)
8 Eyes

8 Eyes is an exciting game clone of Castlevania with some distinctive features. So, for example, Orin's hand falcon, which can be controlled by the second player, helps you in battle. To complete the game, you need to defeat 8 dukes, each of which is in his castle, and you can choose the order of passing the levels yourself, just like in Mega Man. After the player collects all 8 stones, they must be taken to the Altar of Peace and placed in a certain order, which can be learned from the tips as you progress through the levels. about a brave hero named Orin, who, together with his faithful falcon friend Kurtus, must complete an important mission. And the mission is this: visit residences in eight different parts of the world and collect gems called Eyes (Eyes).

On the cover of the game 8 Eyes looks very tempting, but the whole impression collapses after the start of the first level. Let's start with the fact that in a single-player game, the falcon, the main feature that the developers emphasized, is practically uncontrollable and useless, when playing together, the situation is better, but not much. There is little sense in choosing levels, since they still have to be completed in a certain order, otherwise you risk breaking your teeth about prohibitively difficult bosses. 8 Eyes is a very difficult and incredibly boring game. Orin has such a short and miserable sword that it is almost impossible to hit the enemy and not run into the enemy's saber yourself, you have to use tactics: run up, hit, run away, which is terribly annoying, since most enemies refuse to die with one blow. The game has some additional weapons and power-ups,

The gameplay of the game 8 Eyes consists in walking through rooms in which various enemies climb on us non-stop, and there is no end to them. These rooms often contain various levers that need to be activated with a sword strike or skillfully swoop down on them with a falcon.

An interesting nuance - in the two-player mode, the second player takes control of the falcon, so it becomes more interesting to play, and the passage becomes not so difficult. Defeated enemies sometimes drop utility items, such as throwing swords or orbs that immobilize enemies.

Graphically, the game isn't very impressive, especially compared to Contra, which came out around the same time, but it's still capable of engaging due to its varied gameplay.
