Game Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Pool of Radiance (Dendy - nes)
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Pool of Radiance

The game Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - Pool of Radiance based on the AD&D role-playing system is a typical representative of this class of games. Pseudo view from the eyes. Labyrinths, secret rooms and switches, conversations with players and quests. Your party consists of several people, which you can choose from the existing ones or generate your own. Graphics on the level, the music does not interfere.

Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is an entire universe that emerged from the original Dungeons & Dragons tabletop RPG world, which in turn is largely based on the writings of Professor Tolkien. Three sets of rules (described in the author's books), most of the fantasy games based on them, cult and religion - that's what Dungeons & Dragons is.

Pool of Radiance is a fairly standard RPG, but there is one nuance that distinguishes it from many games of that time - pseudo three-dimensionality (with a view of the action from the eyes of the character). Graphically, the game looks very cool, yet for those times the view from the eyes of the protagonist was a curiosity. And the unique spirit of the game is reinforced by many role-playing elements and non-linear gameplay.

It should be noted that Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Pool of Radiance is the only game in the series that received very positive reviews from critics both in the 1990s and in recent times. This is the one you need to run in the first place if you want to spend time playing a very high-quality NES RPG.

The game for the Dendy console takes place in the Forgotten Realms, with the action in the center, and more precisely in the vicinity of the city of Phlan. To begin with, the player's team must help the inhabitants of a part of the city in order to protect them from looting. Moving from area to area, they meet with stronger enemies and bigger problems, which lead to their main goal - the main villain of the game.

Just like in traditional D&D games, the player starts to create a party of up to six members, choosing a race, gender, class, and other additional options for each. During the game, characters can become stronger through experience points, which allow them to increase their abilities.
