You have a great honor - to hold a parade of Disney cartoon characters led by Mickey Mouse himself. But the holiday is in danger of being disrupted - the newly opened attractions have not yet been tested by anyone and can fail at any moment. In addition, Mickey Mouse's friends turned out to have only one of the six keys necessary for the normal operation of miracles in this magical land. The rest can only be received by those who really love Disney and will be able to correctly answer questions about his work.
The game takes place in the Magic Kingdom - a theme park where Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck are preparing for a big parade. But, unfortunately, Goofy left the golden key to the front gate of the park in the castle, which in turn is locked by six silver keys scattered throughout the park. The main character, whose name is chosen by the player himself, remains the last hope of friends, it is he who will have to go around the park's rides in search of much-needed keys.
In terms of gameplay, Adventures in the Magic Kingdom is a mixture of several genres: the classic 2D side-scrolling platformer in the style of Adventure Island, Duck Tales or Akumajou Special: Boku Dracula-kun; a top-down vertical scrolling arcade racing game like Zippy Race or Road Fighter; and arcade. The whole game is designed in the style of Disney cartoons.
At the very beginning of the game, the main character is in an amusement park, where there are five rides and, in the very center, the same castle. To get five silver keys, you must complete all five attraction levels in any order. Two rides - "Haunted Mansion" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" are platform games, the first of which you just need to go through completely, defeating the boss waiting at the very end of the level - especially strong the enemy, and in the second it is necessary to save six girls captured by pirates. The attraction "Autopia" (eng. Autopia) is an arcade car simulator where the player has to master the track filled with obstacles and opponents, and the attractions "Big Thunder Mountain" (eng. Big Thunder Mountain) and "Space" (eng.
To get the sixth key, you must answer the questions of seven visitors to the park. All questions are related to Disney cartoons, for each of them there are three possible answers, only one of which is correct.
Bonus items are scattered throughout all levels of the game, except for "Cosmos", - stars, which can be exchanged at any time for replenishing the health bar, additional game life, the ability to become invisible for a while, or the ability to freeze all enemies within the screen. The last two only work on the platform levels of the game.
