Game After Burner (Dendy - nes)
After Burner

After Burner is the successor to the glorious work of Sky Destroyer. We control the plane, looking at it from behind, far from behind the tail. Shoot down enemy planes. The game was released in two versions - officially in Japan at number 2 and from the publisher SunSoft, and unofficially from the publisher Tengen, but at number 1. The game itself is the Famicom version of the 1987 game from Sega.

Before us is a very dynamic flying shooter for the NES. The American F-14 Tomcat will have to be piloted: a jet interceptor and bomber, which in reality began to be used by the US Air Force in 1974, and operation ended only in 2006 (the new F-18F came to replace it)! The main task of the fighter was to dominate the surface space, so aircraft carriers were the main place for landing and takeoff, which is also clearly demonstrated in the game. But there are also overland missions.

From weapons there is a six-barreled gun Vulkan (Vulkan) with unlimited ammunition and air-to-air missiles (their supply is limited). The flights themselves are impressive, the effect of presence is created, and when you introduce an iron horse into a series of barrels, your head starts to spin a little.

Not all enemies in After Burner are dangerous and offer adequate resistance. Some just fly, waiting to get their portion of lead. And others shoot rockets at you, which you need to dodge as quickly as possible, since even one hit is fatal.

The Japanese version of After Burner was released as After Burner II. You should keep this in mind and not think that the Japanese version is a continuation of the first part. The game is one, just the numbering in different localizations is different.
